Young at Heart

Our dream is a caring community where older adults can thrive spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically, To help achieve such a dream we provide opportunities for fellowship, spiritual growth, social outings, and physical exercise programs. This dream includes a special ministry to our homebound community.

The fellowship and friendships of the ministry provide a support for the experience of aging, of learning how to transition the stages of growing older gracefully and, with God's help, be all that we were intended by Him to be. We offer Sunday school classes at 8:30 and 9:40 AM on Sunday Mornings, several United Methodist Women's Covenant Groups meet at various times during the month, Young at Heart sponsors a monthly covered dish luncheon with guest speakers at noon on the third Wednesday of each month. Trips and outings are scheduled regularly throughout the year.

Older adults are very much a part of the church. They serve as ushers, greeters, and many other ways in the church. They provide assistance to various service groups. Through small circles they reach into the community nursing homes and agencies for the needy. They are one of our most effective outreach groups.
